  • Working with a well-qualified Lima engineering NGO (non-government organization), we will fund two projects: provision of pure water (pumps, pipes, filters) for 350 people in a remote area of northern Peru and electrification of a villiage for the first time by wind power. This latter is to demonstrate to the Peruvian government the practicality of wind systems in indigenous villages. They completed a “beta“ version a couple of years ago in a village Bruce and Joanie visited, and are incorporating into this current project all they have learned from that.

  • Working with a well-qualified engineering NGO in Quito, we will fund a project to provide pure water to a village of 600 in a remote area of the Amazon basin. This will demonstrate the practicality of using solar-powered pumps for this application.
  • Working with a local engineer who has worked with CMaD of the UK in the past, we will help improve a generator driven by river current so that it will be suitable for local manufacture and use. In addition, we will fund this engineer to make several presentations promoting practical solutions for electricity and pure water to indigenous communities.

Why does CMaDFA support electricity projects?
